Community
Giving back to the community is part of the Club’s DNA. Since 1961 the Garden Club of Vancouver has been committed to supporting charitable projects throughout the city and beyond. Funds for these projects may be from general revenues or from special fundraising initiatives.

2020
Easter Seals House Garden Project
Easter Seals House, a house filled with hope, provides a home away from home for those needing to travel to Vancouver for medical treatment and appointments.
In 2020 the Garden Club partnered with Easter Seals to rebuild their garden area and front entry beds to create a welcoming, regenerative and healing space for the residents and staff.
2018
Covenant House Roof Top Garden & Nomenclature Project
Covenant House Vancouver serves youth experiencing homelessness. The Garden Club was funded a welcoming and safe space for youth and staff on the top of their residential building on Pender Street. Once the project was complete, volunteers went back to the garden to help identify and label the various plants and trees in the garden.
On-Going Initiatives
BC Council of Garden Club’s Scholarship Fund
Since 1993 the Club, along with other clubs within BC helped establish and continues to support the BC Council of Garden Club’s Scholarship Fund. This fund assists Canadian students resident in BC further their horticultural training with scholarships and bursaries.
Alderwood Family Development Centre
(formerly known as the Children’s Foundation) since 1987 the club has made sure the children under care receive special Christmas gifts
