Community
Giving back to the community is part of the Club’s DNA. Since 1961 the Garden Club of Vancouver has been committed to supporting charitable projects throughout the city and beyond. Funds for these projects may be from general revenues or from special fundraising initiatives.

2024
Bob & Michael’s Place
Bob & Michael’s Place is a response to Chinatown’s greatest need – affordable community housing where residents not only live but thrive. The Garden Club is now a community partner sharing their gardening skills and passions and creating a beautiful all season garden for the residents.
2024
Salvation Army House
This short term confidentially located transition house provides safe sheltering for up to 25 women and children at risk of violence. It is a place of safety and support, and now its resurrected garden will brighten the lives of the residents and a true outdoor refuge.
2020
Easter Seals House Garden Project
Easter Seals House is filled with hope and provides a home away from home for those needing to travel to Vancouver for medical treatment and appointments. The Garden Club partnered with Easter Seals and built a playground, revamped the garden and entry beds to create a welcoming healing space for residents staff.
On-Going Initiatives
BC Council of Garden Club’s Scholarship Fund
Since 1993 the Club, along with other clubs within BC helped establish and continues to support the BC Council of Garden Club’s Scholarship Fund. This fund assists Canadian students resident in BC further their horticultural training with scholarships and bursaries.
Alderwood Family Development Centre
(formerly known as the Children’s Foundation) since 1987 the club has made sure the children under care receive special Christmas gifts
